Hi All,

I have quite a bad anger problem, shouting, screaming, throwing stuff, banging stuff, breaking stuff generally losing it quite badly.

Thing is I have two small children and I don't want to be angry around them or my partner, it's not good for any of us.

I'm just looking for help really and to see that there are other people with similar problems.

Cheers.

Hi JME84, and welcome. There is a great deal of information on this site about anger management. I'm not terribly technical, but try clicking here (http://www.mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc.php?type=doc&id=5825&cn=116) and look at the right under "resources."

yes, many here deal with anger issues. It's a very good thing you are setting out to do something about it. I used to anchor my sanity in my anger. I could not feel sane unless I was angry because no one around me could help me make sense of the extremely confusing dynamics I was dealing with. When I got better feedback and information, I didn't have to anchor myself in anger any more. That's just my 2 cents.

i too suffered from anger issues. I had my children very early. My oldest is 21, my youngest now 16. I found out many years ago I suffer from rapid cycling BipolarII. Instead of the manic side I suffer from irritability..just plain meanness really.

Now I have two practically grown children who handle EVERYTHING with yelling. I know it is my own doing. They only do what they were taught. It is so sad to watch them handle everything with yelling and anger. My own illness is responsible and I feel so guilty.

I am so glad you are getting help for it now, because it does affect your children. you will all benefit from getting the help you need. If you are taking care of yourself, in turn you are taking care of your children....

GOOD LUCK:)
