I'm sorry, I didn't mean it as a reference to drinking. "May the road rise up to meet you" is something I'd heard attributed to the Irish (Dad's Scottish and Mom's English, so I'm probably even less well-informed about the Irish than the average American), and the rest was just a joke based on my visualizing that.
Dad's drinking taught me not to start that, and Mom's filling us with tea has put me off that, as well. I'll toast St. Patty with Diet Coke, how's that?
