Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've dealt with depression for nearly 20 years now. I'm single and 49 years of age. I don't have much family left, a lot of them have died, and I don't have a support system of people I can rely on if I get sick or need help. I think this is one reason why I'm still dealing with depression after all these years. I try to do the best I can and live one day at a time, but my life is hard, and I worry about the future and being all alone in the world. If anyone has any constructive comments or suggestions, they will be appreciated.

Really just want to say WELCOME to our family. I too do not have many F2F people. The WWW world is not the same but it helps... again .. WELCOME

Hi Dorie ,
Welcome to our community. Can you tell us more about yourself? What kinds of things do you like to do? if you are working? how do you spend your days?

Hi Dorie
welcome from me as well! Yeah the net is not as warm maybe as face to face interaction but we are truly here. Real people reading your post and wanting to help.

As you were asking for bits of advice well, like it's been mentioned by another poster above, if you post again with a bit more info on what you need help with we can help better, but as far as feeling lonely, I would suggest, if it is possible, to find friends outside your family circle. One thing that has help me is doing hobbies with others. I can be just about anything... Just regular meeting with people helps. Also, could there be organizations that you might be able to help with, like a local spca, or community service center? Sometimes these places can be a good place to start...

Hope this helps a little
keep on posting
love
