Hello,
I am a carer for my mother, full-time since I was medically retired in 2004 as a result of my own poor mental health. My mother has now fixated on a scarf she thinks was sent by someone who used to come and help with the housework.
She is convinced, absolutely, that this woman is trying to drive her mad by all means possible. Trying to break in, paying people to make loud noises or whistling in her bedroom, generally persecuting her. It is all untrue but her belief in it is complete.
she has had similar fixations, the one before was the girlfriend of my nephew (poor girl) .
She has been to the memory clinic, had MRI scans and although they showed age related shrinking, no indications of prion disease or multiple infarcts.
I'm at the end of my tether, I really don't know what to do, what medication, if any, to request at her next appointment at the Memory Clinic.
