Hey all, I ran across this site and thought I'd just throw this out there.
I'm 17, and have an imaginary friend. Actually, there are five, but one in particular is my constant compainion. He's male, about 21, and has a very complex background including being abused as a child and seems to have depression.
We talk alot, mostly in my head, and he tends to show up when ever I'm particularly excited or sad. He'll also show when I'm bored or alone, though when I'm with my close friends he usually dissapears. He's compasionate and loving in a brotherly way, but full of his own problems in a life that he seems to live when not with me.
I had imaginary friends as a child, but I thought I had grown out of it, until about two years ago, when he showed up.
He also seems to talk through me. He actually has a chat account and facebook in which he talks to my friends through. they all know its me, and accept it as good fun.
I know he's fake, and can tell reality from imaginary.
Is it okay for someone my age to have an imaginary friend like this?
thanks.
