Hi everyone - I'm a newbie
Haven't been officially diagnosed with a disorder - I just know that I’ve been struggling with ‘something’ all my life.
I strongly feel - from what I have recently been reading - that I have Avoidant Personality Disorder along with traits from other personality disorders.
This is a revelation to me - a shock to me - insight to me - all kinds of things!
I always thought that - as if by magic - something was going to happen in my life and I was going to become a social whiz (thought I was going to turn out - somehow - just like my very social sister). Now I realize that this isn’t very likely to happen as I don’t actually trust or like many people very much.
I wish that I had a better understanding as to how or why I turned out this way. I would love to ‘feel at ease’ around people because it’s very difficult to avoid them in everyday life.
Anyway - don’t want to rattle on too much to begin with. This is my introduction if anyone cares to read it. I would like to hear from and learn about others who have disorders as part of their everyday life.
Take care
