is email confirmation working?

All,

can anyone tell me if the emails our server is supposed to be sending out upon a new member registration event are actually being sent out? I've gotten two people ask me where their email registration message is - and it is apparent that they did not get it. this means that our recent security changes may have stomped on the email process, or it may have been a glitch. this would apply to the last week or so, not further back in time than that.

Any informed feedback or comments are appreciated so that we can solve this if it needs to be solved.

I don't know about new members, but I usually get emails with blog comments, and I haven't gotten any. Maybe it's related?

Any information on the progress of this problem? I am experiencing the same issue as 'smallstar', that no notification e-mails seem to be getting sent. I also see a large number of new users registering but never posting; possibly they are not receiving their confirmation e-mails.

now that i'm thinking about it, i'm not getting e-mail notifications about my subscribed threads either.
maybe the server things the site it trying to spam people and the outgoing messages are being blocked?
Just a thought for you Mark. (I do web sites for a part-time job....;))

E-mail notifications are back, as of sometime around noon, EST. I'm also seeing some new users (some of whom really needed to be banned) :-) being allowed to complete registration, now. You may have fixed it, Mark.
