I have no difficulty at all with your religious beliefs. It is a big world out there, with plenty of room for everyone.

I have beliefs which are unlike yours. I take it as a matter of course that you have no difficulty with mine.
Good fortune to you.

Hey dawg, nice share.

I agree with you in that I came to the very slow and painful realization that I am powerless over alcohol. Not only once I pick up the first drink, but I am powerless 'over' picking up the first one.

The 'peculiar mental twist' as they call it.

That seems to be one thing people who don't get AA can't understand. I finally understand it and it makes sense to me. If I could just 'not drink' I never would have gone to AA in the first place, let alone hung around for as long as I have.

It is not about not getting it. It is about choice and making an informed judgement about methods. AA/12 step is one method which fits some people. It does not fit other people. That is exactly why options are available.

Takes all kinds to make the world go around.

It stands to reason that those two character types would have a problem fitting into AA.

That seems to be a major undertaking. You seem to have some enthusiasm for the task.

Patience is a virtue that I have been known to perpetrate. Also, determined when determination is needed. You should read 'Anabasis' by Xenophon.
