Proverbs31:28

A couple of people have asked me about changing my username and, honestly, I would prefer to as it was a choice made hastily when I registered while in the depths of despair! Soooooo.... is it possible? Can someone tell me how? Thanks!

I would like to know if that is possible to.. for reasons of I talk to much on here and I do not want other people that I know , knowing it is me... sometimes I hold back because I am afraid someone I know will read this.
Gabs
I'm pretty sure that I can do it for you. But I'd like there to be continuity between the old name and the new please, so if people don't mind, please make pubic name change requests and I will honor them (given my imperfect understanding of this software :D).

Thanks lifeless for raising this issue.
I had pm Allan to find out if it was possible. So Mark what do you mean about public name change as I would like to change mine from '1confused12' to the new one of 'confused12'
Thank you
So it turns out that it is pretty simple for me to change usernames. I have changed "1confused12" to "confused12" as requested. Anyone else want to do this?

I just wanted to say, in a very supportive way, that I do not believe nor do I feel in any way, that any of you "talk too much here." Please do not misinterpret. It's OK with me to change usernames. We need, all of us, to be supportive of one another. So, I hope all of you continue to be here, regardless of username.
Allan:)

Okay, I have thought long and hard and settled on Proverbs31:28. Thanks, Mark!
"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."
that's nice, Proverbs31:27. And a lot more hopeful than your previous name.
But that name is too much of a mouthful to use on a casual basis. We need a nickname. I suggest "blessed".

Thank you! My children are my blessing so I am fine with the nickname. :D

OH MARK!~!!!
I have decided on the new name of JustTrying .. if it is available....
I normally use Gabby or some form of that in everything I do on the internet... But I do not want to hold back on posting because of what a neighbor or a family member may see.... SOME people just would not understand... know what I mean!!
Password will be the same right???
Thanks... ME
Gabby/JustTrying - It is done. I wish I could solve all problems this easily!

Thanks!! It is probiably silly.. but I feel better.... I did a search on a name I use often and some of my posts from one site showed up... Not a real big deal just talking about drinking.. but I wonder do all sites you post on eventually show up when someone searches your username?
It was just one site and I post on many using the same name but maybe their Program is not set up for privacy....
JT ... hey I like that!!!

I would like to request that if people change their usernames, that the previous user name is listed in their profiles. It is disconcerting & confusing for me to see posts under a strange username & see that they have over 100 posts on this board and I have never heard of them before.
Thanks,
Catmom

Catmom, I certainly understand how that could be confusing! As one of the ones who changed names, and has over 100 posts, I would offer that each of us who change our names add a line in our signature for 30-60 days after the name change to help people associate the name. I wonder if that would help? I will go add a line to mine now. :D

Hey Mark or Allen, I was wondering if you could add "(Jon)" on the end of my name. I feel "UnsureLife" is too impersonal.
If not, no biggy. =)

Whatever, it just can't be "sad" star, than I swear I won't ever ask for a change again!
Thank you and sorry :o
Sweetie,
You don't need to apologize for asking for what you want. I am sure Mark was in a bit of a hurry and didn't quite get your new name right. He will take care of it the next time he visits this site, I am sure.
By the way, be patient about this, he doesn't always visit every day. I notice that you tend to delete your posts if you don't get a fast reply. ;)
It reminds me of how I used to feel ashamed when I asked for anything I wanted & the request was turned down. The nasty, critical voice in my head (which you definitely have!) would tell me I had no business asking for anything! I guess I thought that if someone turned me down, I was undeserving, when the reality is, you don't always get what you want & people have their own reasons for turning down a request that have nothing to do with you or me for that matter.
That may not be what's going on with you, but I thought I would throw it out for your consideration. :)
